Tour Description
DAY 1: -Port Arthur – Richmond – Tasman National park
HOBART TO BICHENO.We start by heading to the Tasman Peninsula for some history at the world heritage listed Port Arthur historic site. While here we explore the sandstone prison and preserved ruins to discover the epic story of Australia’s ruthless convict past (guided walking tour & harbour cruise included). Departing Port Arthur we head north along the East coast; taking the time to enjoy some great coastal scenery and short walks in the Tasman National Park.Overnight: Bicheno
DAY 2: – Wineglass Bay Freycinet – Bicheno – Freycinet
SPECTACULAR EAST COAST.Today we take the time to relax and explore Freycinet National Park. With the white sands of Wineglass Bay (one of the top ten beaches in the world), and some of Tasmania’s best scenery we have stacks of great options. Choose from relaxing on a beach, hiking a mountain, or exploring the national park. Other highlights for today include Cape Tourville, Honeymoon Bay,Friendly Beaches, Freycinet Marine farm& the little Penguins of Bicheno. Overnight: Bicheno (breakfast)
DAY 3: – Cradle Mountain -Sheffield – Evening wildlife spotting
BICHENO TO CRADLE MOUNTAIN.Departing Bicheno we head west to the temperate rainforests and stunning alpine landscapes of Cradle Mountain World Heritage Area. While here we offer a great range of walking options from easy to challenging. Your guide will help you select from some of Australia best wilderness walks, and introduce you to the local wildlife. Tonight our scenic accommodation in the foothills of Mt Roland gives us the perfect chance for night time wildlife spotting.

DAY 4: – Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary – 41⁰ Salmon & Ginseng Farm – Alum Cliffs
CRADLE MOUNTAIN TO HOBART. Starting between Paradise and the Promised Land (actual place names!) we begin by exploring the stunning views and rich Aboriginal history of Alum cliffs state reserve (Tulampanga). A short drive then takes us to the Trowunna wildlife sanctuary where we get up close to some of Tasmania’s local wildlife including the iconic Tasmanian Devil.
Come lunch time we make our way to Tiger Bar; famous for its artefacts, stories and memorabilia featuring the Tassie Tiger. We then continue along the great western tiers and sample some local produce including; a guided tour of 41⁰ Salmon & Ginseng Farm, and a stop at the honey farm.
Finally we journey back to Hobart along the heritage highway with a stop at the historic town of Ross.
