Just Deserts Cafe
Kate’s hugely popular Just Desserts Café, with its mouth watering menu, overlooks rows of berries to breathtaking views across Great Oyster Bay to the world renowned Freycinet National Park. Its simple menu of time honoured favourites baked to perfection, is a great reason so many return for more.v Scan through the menu and you’ll find Superb melt in the mouth freshly baked hot scones accompanied by a selection of Kate’s own jams and freshly whipped pure cream; Hot crisp Belgium waffles with a luscious compote of poached berries and rich creamy ice cream – an absolute delight; Kate’s fabulous fruit pies made from both her own berries and fresh local fruit when in season; In season berries with cream and ice cream.
Kate offers gluten free scones pies and other treats all made in her own kitchens. Mellow espresso coffees, a selection of rich hot chocolate, fine leaf teas in heated china teapots, milk shakes made with Kate’s own fruit and ice cream accompany this feast of delight. And of course Kate’s famous rich creamy ice cream made from real milk cream and fruit available in cones and tubs of various sizes to eat here or take away.
Kate’s Hand Crafted Chocolates
Kate’s own unique range of handcrafted chocolates are created by Kate herself and made from premium quality Belgium chocolate combined with the very best in Tasmanian and Australian nuts fruit and other ingredients. Whether locally grown walnuts, the best in freshly roasted macadamia nuts, almonds or magnificent Buderim ginger – all hand dipped in either dark or milk chocolate – or pralines that gush with the flavours of the farm, everything reflects just how good chocolate can be. Kate’s signature attention to detail is reflected in all her inspiring creations and each week something new is added to tempt and provide sheer enjoyment.
Picked at the peak of ripeness, Kate’s delicious berries reveal the advantages of a cool climate that allows the fruit vital time to develop flavour, juice, colour and bouquet to its fullest potential. During the picking season, from November to May, punnets of freshly picked berries, dripping with deep red juice, are available for purchase.
Kate’s berries can be consumed inside Kate’s cosy and intimate Just Desserts Café or out doors overlooking Kate’s working berry farm and beyond to the magnificent East Coast vistas. Kate’s berries contain NO fungicides, pesticides or harmful chemicals. She grows her berries using only organic foliar fertilisers.
Jams, Sauces, Jellies, Country Produce & Dessert Wines
From her cool climate berries, Kate offers you a variety of sumptuous jams, sauces and jellies that reflect the full flavours of her fruits. Kate’s kitchens also produce an ever expanding range of delicious country produce including chutneys, relishes and marmalades. She stocks local olive oil, walnut oil, quince paste and other seasonal produce.
Kate’s recipes boast minimal sugar and maximum flavour and texture, everything is hand made in small quantities. For diabetics, Kate offers a range of her produce made especially. From Kate’s own Seascape Winery a small range of dessert wines, made from her berries, are available. Like everything she does, Kate’s wines reflect her attention to fine detail and her commitment to “the best possible”.
