Here is just a sample of some of the adventures Aardvark can offer:

Abseil The Gordon Dam

AardvarkAdventures_1Abseiling at the Gordon Dam has been included in the Top 10 Adrenaline activities in the world today, along with rafting the Zambesi River, bungee jumping in South Africa, and the X Roller Coaster at Six Flags, California. Standing 140 metres high, the Gordon Dam is the world’s highest commercial abseil.
The day starts with a two and a half hour drive through Tasmania’s magnificent south-west wilderness to reach Strathgordon, between lakes Gordon and Peddar. Together these lakes form The Gordon River Power Development Hydro Electric Scheme which occupies a vast area of over 500 square kms.
Lake Gordon was created from the Gordon River by constructing a 140 m high dam across the river above its intersection with the Serpentine River. Water from the lakes is used in the underground Hydroelectric Gordon Power Station, located near the Gordon Dam.
The Dam is several metres higher than the Sydney Harbour Bridge (134m), and holds back thirty times the amount of water in the Harbour itself. Have you ever felt nervous standing on top of the 10 metre diving platform at a swimming pool?

White Water Rafting The Mersey River

AardvarkAdventures_3The Mersey River offers challenging rapids over a ninety-minute section of water located around 85 kilometres south of Devonport. A great river to raft on the way to Cradle Mountain, the Mersey allows groups to try their hand at steering their own raft down the course.
The Mersey River is Hydro-released water, which means it is the most reliable white-water course in the state.
Duration: This trip usually requires a full day.The day starts around ten thirty, and each trip down the course takes around ninety minutes.
Price: $775 for a day of rafting for five people. Additional rafters can be added for $155 per person. We require a 50% deposit payable at time of booking, and full payment prior to departure.

Aardvark Adventures can provide a dynamic range of recreational activities all year round.

Whether it be tackling the rapids of one of our white water rafting routes, tunneling through dark and murky depths of ancient Tasmanian caves or simply enjoying a pleasant kayak paddle while admiring the natural Tasmanian scenery, Aardvark Adventures can offer specially tailored packages that will suit you!
